What Is REMS?

REMS (Radiofrequency Echographic Multi-Spectrometry), is an advanced, Radiation-Free, FDA-cleared, ultrasound technology developed by Echolight Medical used to assess complete Bone Health. FAQs

Is REMS safe?

Yes — REMS uses ultrasound, not X-rays, making it safe for repeated use and appropriate for those concerned about radiation exposure. There is painless, non-invasive test requiring no special prep or undressing. REMS is safe for pregnant women and children.

REMS evaluates both bone mineral density (T score) and bone quality (Fragility score) and avoids errors commonly found in X-ray based scans. REMS can accurately predict 5-Year fracture risk combining T score and Fragility Score.

DXA scan can have errors with Osteophytes, Scoliosis, Arthritis, Previous Surgery, Fractures, Different Machines, Technicians, etc. All these artifacts are excluded with REMS.

Most scans take about 20 – 30 minutes from start to finish.

Even though REMS is FDA cleared, it is not covered by Medicare or insurances. Ask for our bulk discount.
